A Surprisingly Seasonal Cocktail: the Holiday Mojito

 

Hey there you guys. As promised, this is drink number three of four for our holiday season. The weather here in Coastal Alabama has felt much more like a spring afternoon than the middle of December. So in coming up with today’s drink, I started with a classic spring and summer cocktail and put a holiday twist on it. I hope that it is something you will enjoy.

 
 

We came up with a cocktail that will get you into the holiday spirit with the flavors of the season. This Apple Cider Mojito has both the look and taste of the season. The flavors of the classic mojito and apple cider combine to make the perfect holiday treat. Use this easy-to-follow tutorial. This cocktail will be the hit of any holiday get-together or great for enjoying on your own. 

Note: This cocktail will require some muddling. If you need a good muddler, try this one from Amazon.

Ingredients

What You'll Need:
  • 4-8 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 lime wedges
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 0.5 ounce simple syrup
  • 1.5 ounces white rum
  • 3 ounces apple cider
  • 2 ounces club soda
  • Muddler/spoon
Garnish
  • Lime Wheel
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Mint leaves

Instructions

How to Mix It:
  1. Add mint and lime wedges to glass and muddle
  2. Add rum, simple syrup, cider, and lime juice and stir
  3. Fill glass with ice
  4. Top with club soda
