Celebrating our Family Reunion with a Signature Cocktail: The Tarttini

This past weekend we had our first family reunion in almost ten years. It was filled with love, laughter, creativity, dancing, and bonding. Like any other family reunion, it was jam-packed with enjoyable and memorable experiences for everyone involved. It provided an opportunity for family members to reconnect and catch up on each other's lives. The fun of any family reunion lies in shared experiences and the creation of new memories. From playing games, dancing, and sharing meals to taking group photos and telling stories, there are plenty of ways to bond and have fun with family. Additionally, family reunions can be a great way to learn about one's family history and heritage and to pass on traditions from one generation to the next. My favorite part was watching my kids get to meet and bond with cousins that they had never met before and watching them hang out this weekend like they have always known each other.

I was so excited when I was asked to create a signature cocktail for our family reunion banquet. Creating a signature cocktail is a fun and exciting process. I enjoy experimenting with different mixers and flavors to complement one another. Once I had the recipe perfected, i had to give it a catchy name that reflects the personality and style of the cocktail.

The Tarttini, named after my family, is fun, sweet, and sassy. It pretty much embodies the vibe at all of our family get-togethers. Check out the recipe below.
